Sheetrock/Drywall: Works best through a single layer of sheetrock/drywall.

Lath and Plaster: While many customers have reported success using our stud finders through lath and plaster, detection is not guaranteed due to irregularities in plaster thickness.

Incompatible Surfaces: Not recommended for using through stucco, exterior siding, double layers of sheetrock/drywall (common in condos, townhomes and home theaters), tile, wood flooring, carpet or roofing.
