The Simply45® S45-B003 is an 8.5mm (0.33”) snagless strain relief for use with larger diameter shielded LAN cables.  These 8.5mm strain reliefs protect the RJ45 modular plug and extend the useful life of the termination.

The S45-B003 is recommended for all Simply45® brand shielded with external ground RJ45 modular plugs.

Simply45® strain relief boots give a finished and professional look to the cable assembly, improving cable management and reducing the chances of accidental disconnections. Strain reliefs prevent excessive bending or twisting of the cable near the connector, reducing the risk of damage to the internal wires and ensuring a longer lifespan for the cable. Simply45® strain reliefs are the same width as the RJ45 connector body and becomes integrated into the RJ45 plug during the crimping process. The extended tab provides a snag proof protection for the locking tab on the plug. Adding strain reliefs is a cost-effective way to ensure the longevity and reliability of your network connections.

  • Prolongs Life of the Termination. The S45-B003 takes the strain off the terminated plug. When you do not use a strain relief, any contact with the plug or cable puts strain directly on the terminated plug. Over time this could cause one or more of the RJ45 pins to become loose. If a pin becomes loose it will create electrical resistance.  Resistance creates heat. This could then cause performance problems or damage to the device socket.
  • Fits Over the Terminated RJ45 Modular Plug. The S45-B003 is designed to fit over Simply45® shielded with external ground RJ45 modular plugs.
  • Maintains Correct Bend Radius of the Termination. The Simply45® S45-B003 Strain Reliefs protect the terminated RJ45 from damage during the life of the link or channel. Maintaining industry standards bend radius is important for maximizing the link/channel performance.
  • Professional Finish. In addition to protecting the termination and extending the operating life of the link/channel, the S45-B003 strain reliefs also provide a professional finish to your terminated RJ45.
  • Trimmable. The S45-B003 strain reliefs are trimmable so that you can adjust the bend radius if necessary, to work in very tight installations.
  • Clear Color. The S45-B003 strain reliefs come in a clear color so that it easily works with all cable jacket colors.
  • Snagless Design. The S45-B003 strain reliefs are a snagless design. This prevents broken latch tabs on the RJ45 modular plugs.
